Syrup Amount Calculator
Pick your drink size and sweetness level and the syrup amount calculator tells you exactly how many pumps, tablespoons, and milliliters to use — along with the approximate calorie count.
| Measurement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Pumps | 3 |
| Tablespoons | 1.5 tbsp |
| Volume | 22.5 mL |
| Approx. calories (regular syrup) | ~60 cal |
Sugar-free syrup ≈ 0 calories. 1 pump ≈ 0.25 fl oz / 7.5 mL / 0.5 tbsp / ~20 cal. Based on standard cafe pump chart.
How the syrup pump chart works
Cafes follow a standard pump chart scaled to drink size: 2 pumps for an 8 oz, 3 for a 12 oz, 4 for a 16 oz, and 5 for a 20 oz at the normal sweetness level. A standard syrup pump dispenses about 0.25 fl oz (7.5 mL / 0.5 tbsp) of syrup. Regular flavored syrups average around 20 calories per pump, while sugar-free versions are essentially calorie-free because they use alternative sweeteners.
Adjusting sweetness is straightforward: Light is one pump less than the base (minimum one pump), and Sweet is one pump more. If you are recreating a specific cafe drink at home, start with the Normal preset for your drink size and taste as you go — home syrups can be slightly more or less concentrated than commercial ones, so a small tweak may be needed.
